A leading advanced manufacturing group is seeking a Cost Manager to oversee and optimize product costing, margin analysis, and cost control across production operations. This is a high-visibility role blending technical cost accounting with strategic financial analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Controller, the Cost Manager will develop and refine cost models, lead variance and margin analysis, and partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive cost efficiency and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:
  • Manage all aspects of cost accounting, including standard costing, variance, and margin analysis.
  • Monitor production costs, material usage, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain to identify and control cost drivers.
  • Prepare and analyze cost reports, KPIs, and profitability by product line or project.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and pricing decisions through detailed cost projections.
  • Lead cost reduction and working capital improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliations, and cost system accuracy.
  • Coach junior finance staff and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
What You Bring:
  • CPA designation required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5–10+ years in cost accounting or FP&A within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ERP proficiency (Business Central or similar an asset).
  • Collaborative communicator who can partner effectively across technical functions.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying improvement opportunities.
