A leading  real estate services firm is seeking a Divisional Controller to join its property management accounting team. This leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee accounting operations for a diverse commercial property portfolio while guiding a team and contributing to strategic financial decision-making. About the Role
Reporting to a senior finance leader, this position oversees financial planning, reporting, and operational accounting processes for a portfolio that spans multiple asset classes and geographic locations. The role combines team leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and hands-on oversight of financial accuracy, compliance, and cash management.
  
What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to drive high performance.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and analysis of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including cash flow monitoring, funding requirements, and distribution schedules.
  • Review financial statements, reconciliations, and reports to ensure compliance with standards and internal controls.
  • Support audits and year-end processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of required documentation.
  • Maintain and update accounting policies, procedures, and training resources to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with other departments to address financial matters, resolve issues, and improve cross-functional processes.
  • Participate in special projects, process improvements, and other initiatives as needed.
What You Bring
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related discipline; professional designation is an asset.
  • Proven leadership experience in accounting, ideally within property management or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and multi-entity cash management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with industry-standard property management accounting systems is an asset.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
