A respected non-profit arts and culture organization is seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant to join their finance team. About the Role
Reporting to a senior member of the finance team, the General Accountant will play a key role in supporting core accounting functions and maintaining accurate financial records. The successful candidate will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, account reconciliations, and supporting audit and compliance activities.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and assist with financial reporting
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with internal and external audit requirements and documentation
  • Ensure proper documentation and classification of revenues and expenses
  • Support budget tracking and variance analysis for various departments
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely processing of financial data
What You Bring
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in a general accounting or similar role
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and GAAP principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in a non-profit or arts/cultural organization is an asset
