A growing Canadian real estate investment firm is seeking a Manager, Property Accounting to join their finance team. This is a high-impact role offering ownership of a property portfolio’s full-cycle accounting, direct collaboration with senior leadership, and the chance to contribute to a people-first culture that values growth and operational excellence.

About the Role
Reporting to the VP of Finance, you’ll oversee the full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties and several corporate entities. You’ll lead financial reporting, audit coordination, and play a key role in improving accounting processes as the company continues to scale. What You’ll Do

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of real estate assets
  • Lead year-end audit preparation and act as the main point of contact for auditors
  • Review monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reports
  • Support quarterly investor reporting in collaboration with the Reporting team
  • Maintain and review general ledgers across properties and corporate entities
  • Process and review recurring entries for acquisitions, mortgages, prepayments, and taxes
  • Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and accounts receivable
  • Drive implementation of accounting process improvements and system changes
  • File HST returns and ensure CRA compliance
  • Collaborate with asset management, operations, and finance on special projects
What You Bring
  • University degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • CPA designation (CPA-CA preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting or industry, ideally in real estate or asset management
  • Advanced knowledge of IFRS and strong technical accounting skills
  • Proficient in Excel and comfortable working with multiple entities and systems
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and deadline-oriented
  • Collaborative, emotionally intelligent, and eager to drive results
  • A self-starter with a growth mindset and a passion for continuous improvement
