A professional services firm in the accounting sector is seeking a Senior Accountant

About the Role:
Reporting into the firm’s senior leadership, this position is responsible for overseeing full-cycle accounting functions for a range of clients across various industries. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and deadlines.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, working papers, and client reports
- Oversee general ledger reconciliations, adjusting entries, and year-end closings
- Act as a primary point of contact for client inquiries, providing sound accounting advice and service
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory filings, and internal quality controls
- Collaborate with junior staff and support their development through training and file review
- Participate in special projects including tax planning support, system migrations, and process improvements
- CPA designation (or in final stages) and post-secondary education in accounting or finance
- 3–5+ years of experience in public accounting or professional services environments
- Proficiency in full-cycle accounting, financial statement preparation, and assurance engagements
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with cloud-based accounting tools or CaseWare (an asset)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a client-focused approach
- Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses across various industries is an asset
