About the Role
Reporting to a senior finance leader, you’ll play a critical part in monthly and quarterly financial close processes, financial statement preparation, and supporting the implementation of evolving systems and workflows. You’ll also support portfolio-level accounting for financial instruments and play a key role in team mentorship and process improvements.
What You’ll Do
- Own key components of the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with IFRS, supporting both internal and external reporting needs
- Lead the accounting and reporting for a diverse portfolio of financial instruments and equity investments
- Manage general and administrative expense reporting, providing insights to support budget oversight
- Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline financial processes and improve data integrity
- Support the implementation and optimization of a new ERP system
- Assist with audit coordination and respond to requests from external auditors
- Contribute to special projects that enhance finance operations, analytics, and internal controls
- Mentor junior staff and help foster a collaborative, learning-focused team culture
- A CPA designation (or equivalent), with 3–5 years of progressive experience in public accounting or a corporate finance environment
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and hands-on experience with financial reporting
- Experience working with accounting systems or ERP platforms; exposure to system implementations is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI is an asset
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Industry experience in investments, natural resources, or related sectors is beneficial but not required
