About the Role:
Reporting into a senior tax leader, this position supports recurring tax compliance, tax provision work, indirect tax filings, and research related to Canadian and international tax matters. You will work closely with finance teams across multiple entities, gaining exposure to forecasting, transactions, and advisory-style projects.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare and file a range of Canadian corporate, trust, and partnership tax returns, along with associated compliance forms.
- Complete monthly and quarterly indirect tax filings (HST/GST/PST) and ensure timely remittances.
- Assist with preparing tax provisions under IFRS and posting related journal entries.
- Support taxable income estimates, forecasts, and annual tax budgeting processes.
- Conduct analysis on the tax implications of acquisitions, dispositions, and reorganizations.
- Assist in preparing transfer pricing documentation and coordinating with external advisors.
- Respond to inquiries from tax authorities, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
- Perform research on Canadian and international tax issues and prepare concise summaries.
- Contribute to legal entity financial statements and assist with administrative tax tasks as required.
- 1–2 years of tax experience in public accounting or industry; exposure to real estate is considered an asset.
- CPA designation in progress or completed, with an interest in pursuing in-depth tax or equivalent training.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and filings.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with strong time-management skills.
- Collaborative working style and clear communication skills.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
