About the Role:
Reporting to the firm’s tax partners, the Tax Manager will manage client relationships, review complex returns, and provide strategic tax advice across multiple entities. This role suits a designated CPA with advanced technical expertise who enjoys mentoring junior staff and engaging in both compliance and planning work.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee preparation and review of personal, corporate, trust, and partnership tax returns.
- Lead tax planning and reorganization projects for corporate and individual clients.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor tax specialists and co-op staff.
- Manage correspondence with tax authorities and advise clients on audit or compliance matters.
- Research and resolve complex tax issues while staying current on legislation and CRA rulings.
- Collaborate with other service lines on integrated client engagements.
What You Bring:
- CPA designation and completion (or enrollment) in the CPA In-Depth Tax Course.
- 5+ years of Canadian tax experience in public accounting.
- Strong background in corporate and personal tax compliance and planning.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines.
- Experience with tax and accounting software (e.g., TaxPrep, CaseWare, or similar).
- Leadership qualities with an interest in developing others.
