About the Role
Working closely with a senior financial leader, this role is accountable for overseeing accounts payable functions, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions. You’ll work cross-functionally with internal departments and external partners to maintain strong financial processes and support business operations.
What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day accounts payable operations, ensuring timely processing and accuracy
- Supervise and support a small team, providing coaching and guidance to drive performance
- Oversee vendor relationships and resolve escalated payment issues
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline procurement-to-payment processes
- Assist in month-end and year-end close activities related to payables
- Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancements
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and support audit-related activities
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional designation (e.g., CPA) is an asset
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounts payable, including team management
- Proficiency with enterprise accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in a mid to large-sized organization is preferred
