About the Role
This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the firm's U.S. tax matters for its diverse investment funds and corporate entities, with a strong emphasis on compliance and strategic tax planning. 

What You'll Do

  • Lead U.S. federal and state income tax compliance and reporting for investment funds and corporate entities.
  • Provide expert guidance on intricate tax matters, navigating complex and ambiguous regulatory landscapes.
  • Oversee tax considerations related to new investments and divestitures, including due diligence and structuring.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant tax laws and regulations, maintaining a robust compliance framework.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external advisors on strategic tax planning initiatives.
  • Analyze the tax implications of financial transactions and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Manage and support tax audits and inquiries from regulatory bodies.
  • Contribute to the tax strategy and oversight for a diverse portfolio of operating companies.
What You Bring
  • CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification is highly preferred.
  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in U.S. direct and indirect tax, with a strong focus on fund taxation (e.g., private equity, alternative investments) and corporate tax.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws, particularly in areas requiring nuanced judgment.
  • A strong compliance-focused mindset and proven experience in managing comprehensive tax reporting obligations.
  • Prior experience within an investment firm, private equity firm, or a large public accounting firm specializing in financial services or investment funds.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a lean, fast-paced, and high-impact environment.
