About the Role
Their Toronto office is seeking highly motivated Senior Staff Accountants to join the Assurance Group. This is a progressive opportunity for individuals looking to advance their careers in public accounting.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct audits of financial statements in accordance with Canadian auditing standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review working papers, financial statements, and related reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and provide tax planning support for clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements for efficiency in audit and accounting procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional service throughout the engagement.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Stay current with industry developments, changes in regulations, and best practices in accounting and auditing.
  • Assist in managing project timelines and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, contributing insights and recommendations based on analysis.
  • Support management in the development of client relationships and business opportunities.
What You Bring
  • 2 to 3 years of Canadian Public Accounting experience, with a CPA designation. Candidates with international designations and relevant auditing experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Caseware, Taxprep, and Excel.
  • Strong file documentation skills.
  • A deadline-oriented mindset and effective time management abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Professionalism in interactions with clients and colleagues.
  • A dedication to teamwork and leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
