A privately held real estate organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to take ownership of its finance function. This is a hands-on opportunity for a CPA who enjoys working independently, partnering with senior leadership, and contributing to financial and business decisions.
About the RoleReporting directly to senior leadership, you’ll oversee accounting across multiple entities while providing insight into cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance. This role suits someone who is adaptable, commercially minded, and comfortable in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead month-end close and financial reporting
- Manage accounting across multiple entities and bank accounts
- Oversee AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations
- Manage intercompany transactions and cash flow
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Monitor financing, liquidity, and capital requirements
- Provide financial guidance to senior leadership and support business decisions
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, lenders, and advisors
- Support tax filings, compliance, and year-end requirements
- Identify financial risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement
What You Bring
- CPA designation
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Accounting or Finance Manager experience preferred
- Real estate or property management experience is an asset
- Strong multi-entity and intercompany accounting knowledge
- Strong month-end, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow experience
- Commercial mindset with sound financial judgment
- Highly independent, organized, and adaptable
- Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-changing environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with accounting or property management systems is an asset
