About the Role
Reporting to senior leadership, this position is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting month-end and year-end reporting, overseeing payroll processes, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. The successful candidate will work independently while collaborating with operational teams to support the financial health of the business.
What You'll Do
- Manage full-cycle accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Process payroll and ensure accurate and timely employee payments
- Prepare and file indirect tax returns, payroll-related remittances, and other regulatory filings
- Monitor cash flow and support timely collection of outstanding receivables
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and operational reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Support internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with operational teams on project-related financial activities and reporting
- Supervise and support administrative or accounting staff as required
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
- Professional accounting designation is considered an asset but is not required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a full-cycle accounting or bookkeeping role
- Strong experience preparing financial statements and managing month-end and year-end close processes
- Experience with payroll administration, tax filings, and regulatory reporting
- Experience in construction or other project-based industries is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
- Comfortable supporting collections and maintaining strong customer relationships
