About the Role
Reporting to a senior finance leader, this position supports routine bookkeeping and payroll activities for a small to mid-sized workforce. The role is well-suited to someone who enjoys hands-on accounting work, values accuracy, and is comfortable operating in a deadline-driven, operational environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support payroll processing for a mixed workforce of office-based and field-based employees
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and related reporting
- Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare and file indirect tax returns
- Maintain accurate financial records within a cloud-based accounting system
- Provide general bookkeeping support, including light clean-up and administrative accounting tasks
- Work closely with the finance lead to support broader accounting operations
- Collaborate with internal teams while focusing on core bookkeeping and payroll responsibilities
What You Bring
- Previous experience in a bookkeeping and payroll support role
- Exposure to accounting within a project-based or operational environment is an asset
- Experience supporting unionized or hourly payroll structures is considered a plus
- Comfort with reconciliations and recurring accounting tasks
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Clear, professional communication skills
- Ability to work on-site on a part-time schedule
