A privately owned consumer goods company is seeking an Accounts Receivable & Collections Lead to support the organization through a structured business wind-down and asset liquidation process. About the Role
Reporting to senior leadership, this position will oversee day-to-day accounts receivable and collections activities while supervising a small team. The primary focus of the role is driving collections efforts, maintaining customer relationships, and supporting cash flow management during a transition period. This is a highly visible role that requires confidence, organization, and the ability to communicate effectively with large customer accounts and external stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Lead collections activities and follow up on outstanding customer balances
- Manage and support a small accounts receivable team, including workflow oversight and day-to-day guidance
- Communicate directly with customers regarding payment timelines, account status, and dispute resolution
- Review aging reports and prioritize collection efforts to support cash flow objectives
- Oversee account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of customer account records
- Collaborate with internal teams to monitor incoming orders, payment activity, and account updates
- Support reporting and provide updates to leadership regarding collections progress and account risk
- Maintain a professional and solutions-focused approach when dealing with high-volume or complex accounts
What You Bring
- Previous experience in accounts receivable, credit, or collections leadership roles
- Strong background managing collections in a business-to-business environment
- Experience supervising or mentoring team members
- Ability to handle difficult collection conversations professionally and confidently
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience working with large retail or distribution customers is considered an asset
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
