About the Role
Reporting directly to business leadership, you will oversee the full accounting function while supporting operational and strategic decision-making. This role offers broad ownership across finance, with the opportunity to enhance reporting, strengthen internal processes, and improve systems over time. You'll inherit a stable accounting environment with an established foundation, allowing you to focus on adding value rather than rebuilding existing processes.
What You'll Do
- Lead the full-cycle accounting function, including month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis to support business decisions
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general accounting operations
- Monitor job costing and production-related financial performance to ensure accurate reporting and profitability analysis
- Partner with business leaders to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic initiatives
- Develop and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and standardized procedures
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through process improvements and system enhancements
- Support ERP optimization and finance-related technology initiatives
- Mentor and support members of the accounting team while promoting accountability and continuous improvement
- Collaborate closely with leadership on business planning, operational performance, and long-term growth initiatives
What You Bring
- CPA designation is preferred
- Strong experience in full-cycle accounting within a manufacturing, construction, industrial, or other operational environment
- Proven experience preparing financial statements and managing the accounting function from start to finish
- Solid understanding of job costing, inventory, and production accounting is considered an asset
- Experience improving financial processes, controls, and reporting
- Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with manufacturing ERP platforms is beneficial but not required
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to partner effectively with operational leaders
- A self-motivated, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership of results
