About the Role Reporting to a senior finance executive, the Corporate Controller will oversee the corporate accounting function and ensure the integrity of internal and external financial reporting. The role requires someone who can navigate complex structures, interpret accounting standards, and provide meaningful insights to support business decisions. This position combines technical accounting expertise with leadership responsibilities and offers exposure to senior management and strategic initiatives across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including financial statements, management discussion materials, and supporting disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards
- Review and analyze financial results across multiple operating units, providing insights and commentary to senior leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals while supporting the day-to-day operations of the corporate accounting function
- Manage financial systems and reporting processes, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy
- Drive process improvement initiatives related to reporting, analysis, and internal controls
- Coordinate quarterly and year-end audit processes, working closely with internal and external auditors to ensure efficient and accurate reporting cycles
- Support the preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
- Contribute to strategic projects and leadership presentations, including materials prepared for executive committees and governance groups
What You Bring
- CPA designation required
- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting environments
- Experience with public company reporting or complex external reporting structures
- Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring accounting teams
- Strong knowledge of IFRS or comparable accounting standards
- Experience working within organizations that have multiple entities, operating units, or geographic locations
- Advanced financial systems and reporting tools experience, with the ability to improve and optimize processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
