About the Role

A global financial services organization is seeking a senior finance leader to oversee controllership, treasury, financial reporting, and operational accounting activities across a complex business platform. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this position will play a key role in strengthening the organization's finance infrastructure, improving processes, and establishing scalable controls.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting or finance professional who is comfortable working in an evolving environment and enjoys solving complex financial and operational challenges. The successful candidate will oversee financial close and consolidation activities, provide technical accounting guidance, manage treasury operations, and partner with senior stakeholders on strategic initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee financial close and reporting activities across multiple entities
  • Lead consolidation processes, including intercompany activity and related adjustments
  • Prepare financial analysis, management reporting, and materials for senior leadership
  • Maintain effective internal controls and support compliance with applicable accounting standards and organizational policies
  • Coordinate with internal and external audit teams and manage related information requests
  • Research complex accounting matters and prepare technical documentation supporting significant transactions
  • Evaluate accounting considerations related to investments, acquisitions, restructurings, dispositions, and financing activities
  • Oversee treasury operations, including cash positioning, liquidity management, banking relationships, and payment approvals
  • Coordinate funding, distributions, capital activity, and intercompany cash movements
  • Provide guidance on complex accounts payable matters and help resolve payment or operational exceptions
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve the efficiency and scalability of finance operations
  • Act as a key business partner for finance-related systems and process improvements
  • Lead, coach, and develop finance team members while promoting accountability and continuous improvement
  • Support strategic projects, special initiatives, and evolving business priorities

What You Bring

  • CPA, CA, or equivalent professional designation preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 8–15+ years of progressive experience across controllership, treasury, accounting, or finance
  • Experience within financial services, investment management, or another complex financial environment is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of applicable accounting standards, including IFRS and/or U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with financial consolidation, technical accounting, treasury operations, and internal controls
  • Strong experience with ERP or financial management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, implement controls, and identify opportunities for automation
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where processes and priorities continue to evolve
  • Proven leadership ability with experience coaching and developing finance professionals
