A respected organization in the natural resources sector is seeking a Finance Manager to join its finance team. This role offers broad exposure across financial reporting, technical accounting, and business operations, making it an excellent opportunity for a CPA looking to work closely with senior leadership while contributing to strategic initiatives and process improvements.

About the Role

Reporting to a senior finance leader, this position is responsible for supporting the organization's financial reporting function, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and delivering meaningful analysis to support business decisions. The role combines technical accounting expertise with operational collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and review month-end journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting working papers
  • Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements, management reporting, and related disclosures
  • Research accounting matters and prepare technical accounting documentation
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support process improvement initiatives by developing and enhancing accounting procedures and internal controls
  • Partner with operational teams to provide accounting guidance and improve financial reporting accuracy
  • Participate in profit and loss reviews and provide recommendations to strengthen financial reporting and cost management
  • Assist with tax provision support and year-end reporting requirements
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit deliverables and timelines
  • Contribute to special projects and other finance initiatives as required

What You Bring

  • CPA designation is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
  • 4–6 years of progressive experience in public accounting, industry, or a combination of both
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, technical accounting, and month-end close processes
  • Experience preparing financial statements and supporting external audits
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly
  • Experience working with ERP or enterprise accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
