A growing organization is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, strengthen financial reporting, and support sound business decisions. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working directly with financial data, leading a small team, and using technology to improve processes and performance.

Reporting to senior leadership, the Finance Manager will oversee core accounting functions, manage cash flow, and provide meaningful insights into the organization's financial results. This role combines people management with hands-on financial oversight, making it well suited to someone who can move comfortably between detailed accounting work and broader business analysis.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including banking, cash management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis to support business planning and management decisions
  • Investigate changes in financial performance, identify underlying trends, and explain variances in revenue and income
  • Develop and maintain short-term cash flow forecasts to anticipate upcoming obligations and support effective cash management
  • Monitor cash balances and ensure sufficient funds are available to meet payment commitments
  • Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts and provide regular updates on the organization's financial position
  • Lead and support a small accounting team, providing guidance, oversight, and opportunities for professional development
  • Use financial systems and reporting tools to improve the accuracy, consistency, and efficiency of accounting processes
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen reporting, and improve the use of technology
  • Partner with leadership to provide timely financial insights and support informed operational decisions

What You Bring

  • Approximately 5–10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related operational finance function
  • At least 2 years of experience managing or supervising team members
  • A CPA designation is not required. Experience in financial services or another transaction-oriented industry would be an asset.
  • Strong hands-on experience across core accounting functions, including banking, cash management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare cash flow forecasts, monitor liquidity, and anticipate upcoming financial obligations
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to investigate variances and explain changes in business performance
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
  • Experience using accounting or ERP systems; familiarity with cloud-based financial reporting platforms is an asset
  • Strong technology aptitude and a willingness to adopt new tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve productivity
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to translate financial information into clear, practical insights
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to work independently in a remote environment

Why Join

This is an opportunity to take ownership of an important finance function within a flexible, fully remote working environment. You'll have the chance to work closely with leadership, develop a small team, and make a tangible contribution to financial visibility and operational effectiveness.

The role also offers opportunities to enhance your technical capabilities, explore emerging technologies, and contribute to ongoing improvements in financial reporting and business processes.
