About the Role
Reporting to senior finance leadership, the Financial Accountant will provide accounting and financial reporting support across multiple business entities. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial information, supporting internal controls, and contributing to ongoing process improvements and operational efficiencies.
What You’ll Do
- Perform full-cycle accounting activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and supporting documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Support the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages
- Coordinate and oversee recurring accounting and transactional processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal procedures
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and business partners
- Assist with audit requirements, compliance activities, and internal control processes
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies
- Support special projects and broader finance initiatives as needed
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation completed or in progress
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial analysis
- Proficiency with Excel and ERP or financial reporting systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
- Experience in real estate, construction, development, or public accounting environments is considered an asset
