  • Ensure financial reporting complies with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze financial results and provide meaningful insights to support business planning and decision-making
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning alongside senior leadership

Tax, Audit & Compliance

  • Coordinate recurring tax filings and other statutory reporting requirements
  • Work with external advisors and auditors to provide supporting documentation and address financial reporting requirements
  • Maintain appropriate records and controls to support compliance obligations
  • Identify financial and operational risks and recommend practical measures to mitigate them

Process Improvement

  • Strengthen internal controls and financial procedures as the organization evolves
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve reporting, and reduce manual work
  • Support the implementation and optimization of accounting and business systems
  • Improve the flow of financial information between systems and departments

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with teams across the organization to provide financial guidance and support
  • Translate financial information into practical recommendations for non-financial stakeholders
  • Support and mentor junior finance team members
  • Contribute to projects and initiatives that improve the overall effectiveness of the finance function

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • CPA designation, or progress toward obtaining the designation, is preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management
  • Strong experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll, cash management, and month-end processes
  • Solid understanding of corporate tax, statutory filings, and financial compliance
  • Experience working with accounting software and integrated business systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office and spreadsheet skills
  • Experience improving finance processes or implementing new systems is an asset
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader business priorities
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills

What You'll Bring to the Team

The successful candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of their work while knowing when to collaborate or escalate an issue. You bring sound judgment, curiosity, and a practical approach to problem-solving.

You are able to manage sensitive financial information with discretion, communicate effectively with stakeholders at different levels, and identify opportunities to make processes more efficient. You take initiative, follow through on commitments, and are motivated by producing accurate, useful financial information that helps the business move forward.

Why Join

This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role within a growing organization where the finance function has a direct connection to business performance. You'll work closely with senior leadership, have visibility across multiple areas of the organization, and have the opportunity to improve processes and contribute to important business initiatives.

The environment is collaborative and entrepreneurial, with room to take ownership, build your expertise, and make a measurable contribution during the contract term.
