A leading investment services firm is seeking a Fund Accounting Supervisor to join its real assets team. This role offers a strong blend of fund accounting oversight, client interaction, process improvement, and team leadership within a fast-paced alternative investments environment. It is well suited for professionals with experience in real estate or private market funds who enjoy balancing technical accounting responsibilities with operational coordination and people leadership.
 
About the Role Reporting to senior operations leadership, the Fund Accounting Supervisor will oversee fund accounting deliverables, support client relationships, coordinate reporting activities, and assist with operational initiatives. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership capability, organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
 
What You’ll Do
  • Review and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual fund accounting deliverables to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and support ongoing relationship management
  • Coordinate workflow allocation across the team and help drive process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Supervise, mentor, and support the development of team members through coaching and technical guidance
  • Prepare and review reconciliations, accruals, capital activity, investor allocations, and supporting schedules
  • Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements, investor reporting packages, and related disclosures
  • Coordinate with auditors, legal advisors, investors, and internal departments to support reporting and operational requirements
  • Participate in onboarding activities, fund migrations, and implementation projects
  • Contribute to business process improvement initiatives, systems enhancements, and operational transformation projects
  • Support testing, documentation, and implementation of accounting or operational system updates
  • Troubleshoot operational or system-related issues and collaborate with internal teams to resolve them efficiently
What You Bring
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • CPA designation completed or in progress is considered an asset
  • 5+ years of accounting experience within real estate, fund administration, or alternative investments
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, mentoring, or coaching team members
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards such as IFRS and US GAAP
  • Experience preparing or reviewing general ledgers, reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Knowledge of limited partnership accounting and investor allocation processes is an asset
  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with accounting, property management, or investment systems is beneficial
