About the Role
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the organization's day-to-day accounting operations, with a primary focus on accounts payable while gaining exposure to a variety of general accounting responsibilities. Working closely with finance, operations, and internal stakeholders, you'll help ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and efficient accounting processes.
What You'll Do
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, coding, reconciliations, and payment preparation
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are recorded promptly and accurately
- Respond to vendor and internal inquiries while investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Assist with account reconciliations, month-end and quarter-end activities, and routine journal entries
- Support financial reporting by preparing schedules and assisting with ongoing accounting processes
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and client-facing teams to ensure efficient workflows
- Participate in cross-training initiatives and provide support across the accounting team as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and contribute to operational efficiencies
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 2–3 years of accounting experience; experience within financial services, professional services, or a not-for-profit environment is considered an asset
- Experience with accounts payable and general accounting processes
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, client-focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines
