A purpose-driven organization is seeking a General Accounting Associate to join its Finance team. About the Role

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the organization's day-to-day accounting operations, with a primary focus on accounts payable while gaining exposure to a variety of general accounting responsibilities. Working closely with finance, operations, and internal stakeholders, you'll help ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and efficient accounting processes. 

What You'll Do

  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, coding, reconciliations, and payment preparation
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are recorded promptly and accurately
  • Respond to vendor and internal inquiries while investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Assist with account reconciliations, month-end and quarter-end activities, and routine journal entries
  • Support financial reporting by preparing schedules and assisting with ongoing accounting processes
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and client-facing teams to ensure efficient workflows
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives and provide support across the accounting team as needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and contribute to operational efficiencies

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 2–3 years of accounting experience; experience within financial services, professional services, or a not-for-profit environment is considered an asset
  • Experience with accounts payable and general accounting processes
  • Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, client-focused approach
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines
