An established organization is seeking a Head of Tax to join its finance leadership team. This position offers the opportunity to oversee the organization's tax function while providing strategic guidance on tax planning, compliance, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders across the business, helping to manage tax risk, support key business initiatives, and strengthen the overall tax framework.
What You'll Do
- Lead the organization's corporate tax function, ensuring compliance with applicable tax legislation and reporting requirements.
- Oversee tax planning activities and provide strategic advice to support business objectives and financial performance.
- Manage tax reporting, provisions, reconciliations, and related financial disclosures.
- Provide tax guidance on business initiatives, corporate transactions, and organizational changes.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with external advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business, recommending practical solutions where appropriate.
- Review and enhance tax processes, controls, and reporting practices to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
- Partner with finance and other business leaders to provide timely advice on complex tax matters.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the tax team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring
- CPA designation or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Extensive experience in corporate taxation within a complex business environment.
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance, planning, financial reporting, and governance.
- Experience supporting significant business initiatives, corporate transactions, or organizational changes.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and external advisors.
- Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools is considered an asset.
- Background in public accounting combined with industry experience is preferred.
