A leading organization is seeking an Manager, Accounting to lead its core accounting function. This role offers strong leadership exposure and the opportunity to drive process improvements while overseeing a high-performing team. It is well-suited for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys balancing technical expertise with people management and operational efficiency.
 
About the Role
Reporting to a senior finance leader, this position is responsible for overseeing the full-cycle accounting process, including monthly and quarterly close, while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. You will also play a key role in developing team members, enhancing internal processes, and supporting broader finance initiatives.
 
What You’ll Do
  • Lead and manage the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial results
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses to maintain high-quality reporting standards
  • Oversee key accounting activities such as accruals, allocations, and balance sheet reviews
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal control frameworks
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve data flow, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency
  • Support internal and external audit processes and address related requirements
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including financial institutions and regulatory bodies
  • Contribute to system enhancements, process improvements, and finance-related projects
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, supporting performance management and career growth
 
What You Bring
  • CPA designation required
  • 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience across public accounting and/or industry environments
  • 2-3 years of management experience
  • Experience operating in a large public company is strongly preferred
  • Exposure to process automation and continuous improvement initiatives within finance
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and involvement in system implementations or upgrades is an asset
  • Proven ability to manage and develop teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present insights to senior leadership
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
