A growing organization in the natural resources sector is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting to join its finance team. This is a high-impact role offering exposure to executive leadership, strategic initiatives, and complex financial reporting matters. It is ideal for an experienced finance professional with a strong technical accounting background and experience in regulated or publicly listed environments.

About the Role Reporting to the senior finance executive, this role will oversee the organization’s financial reporting function, technical accounting matters, and internal controls framework. This role will play a key part in ensuring timely and accurate reporting, supporting compliance requirements, and driving continuous improvement across finance operations. Although this position is remote, candidates are expected to reside within the Greater Vancouver Area.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements, management reporting packages, and board/audit committee materials
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Manage public company reporting requirements and coordinate external filings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain and enhance accounting policies to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Research and document accounting treatment for complex or non-routine transactions
  • Drive process improvement initiatives across finance systems, controls, and reporting workflows
  • Support the development and execution of internal control and compliance programs
  • Oversee treasury, accounts payable, payroll, and related financial operations
  • Assist with tax planning, compliance processes, and broader corporate finance initiatives
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic transactions and special projects as needed

What You Bring
  • CPA designation required
  • 5+ years of progressive post-designation experience in accounting/finance
  • Experience within natural resources, industrial, or similarly complex asset-heavy industries preferred
  • Public company and/or regulatory reporting experience strongly preferred
  • Background in public accounting is considered an asset
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with complex financial reporting matters
  • Advanced Excel and ERP/reporting systems proficiency
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and leadership levels
