About the Job
A professional services firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join its advisory practice. This role offers the opportunity to take on a leadership position within client engagements, contribute to strategic tax planning, and support the development of junior team members. You'll gain exposure to a wide variety of clients across industries, including both private companies and publicly listed entities, while working on complex tax planning, reorganizations, transactions, and indirect tax matters.
What You'll Do
- Lead client engagements across diverse sectors, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborate with partners on tax planning initiatives and advisory projects.
- Oversee and review the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns.
- Conduct tax research and present findings clearly to clients and internal teams.
- Provide tax compliance and planning support to a broad client base.
- Mentor and guide staff members, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness.
- Support business development activities by identifying opportunities and building relationships.
- Recommend ways to improve efficiency and team performance.
- Effectively manage time across multiple projects and deadlines.
- CPA designation (required).
- Minimum 5 years of current or recent experience in public accounting or professional services.
- Advanced tax training (CPA In-Depth Tax Course or Master's in Taxation) completed or near completion.
- Strong technical knowledge of both tax compliance and planning.
- Excellent client service skills and the ability to understand business needs.
- Proven organizational and project management abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify complex tax matters.
- Strategic thinker with motivation to grow into senior leadership.
- Experience preparing or reviewing complex tax memorandums is an asset.
