A growing real estate investment and property management organization is seeking a Property Accountant to join its finance team. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and contributing to the financial operations of a diverse property portfolio.

About the Role

Reporting to senior leadership, this role will oversee day-to-day property accounting functions while supporting broader financial reporting, cash flow management, and operational initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting across multiple assets and projects.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Manage full-cycle accounting responsibilities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger activities
  • Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting for a portfolio of properties
  • Monitor property-related financial transactions, including rent collections, operating expenses, and capital expenditures
  • Collaborate with property management and operational teams to ensure financial accuracy and reporting consistency
  • Support leadership with financial analysis, reporting, and special projects related to acquisitions, refinancing, or business planning initiatives
  • Assist with contract administration and tracking project-related financial activity
  • Maintain accurate financial records and contribute to ongoing process improvements within the accounting function

What You Bring

  • CPA designation is required
  • 1+ years of experience in property accounting or real estate accounting
  • Experience managing full-cycle accounting processes in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Bilingual communication skills are considered an asset
