- Oversee the daily accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and account reconciliations.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting analyses for leadership.
- Monitor cash flow, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and provide financial insights to aid business decision-making.
- Supervise, coach, and develop members of the accounting team while fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
- Manage inventory accounting, cost tracking, and related reconciliations within an inventory-driven business.
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial analysis and recommendations that support business performance.
- Coordinate external audits and act as the primary liaison with auditors and other external stakeholders.
- Evaluate and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, workflow enhancements, and process improvements.
- Support strategic initiatives and special projects as required.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Experience working in a retail, wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, or other inventory-based environment is preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
