About the Role
Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee core accounting and financial reporting activities across multiple entities. You will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial information, supporting planning and forecasting, and providing analysis that helps inform investment and operational decisions. The position is well suited to someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a private, high-trust environment.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and other recurring financial deliverables.
- Manage general ledger activities and support accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Coordinate accounting and reporting requirements across multiple entities and investment-related activities.
- Prepare financial analysis and reporting to support business planning, forecasting, and decision-making.
- Analyze financial performance, cash flows, and other key financial information to identify trends and opportunities.
- Support accounting for investment and asset-holding activities, including real estate-related interests.
- Maintain and improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate with external accounting, audit, tax, and other professional advisors as required.
- Help ensure financial reporting complies with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Partner closely with leadership to provide clear financial insights and support longer-term planning initiatives.
What You Bring
- CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Several years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong technical accounting skills, particularly in financial statement preparation, reporting, consolidations, and period-end close.
- Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to interpret detailed financial information and translate it into practical insights.
- Understanding of investments, asset holdings, cash flow, and broader financial management.
- Experience working with accounting systems and a demonstrated interest in improving processes and controls.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior leadership and external advisors.
- Experience in private investment, asset management, real estate, or a similar environment is an asset.
