About the Role:
Reporting to senior leaders within the tax practice, this role is focused on supporting clients with compliance, planning, and advisory needs. You'll be involved in a variety of projects that require strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct research on tax-related matters and provide summaries on potential implications for clients.
- Assist in the preparation and review of tax returns and related filings.
- Support the development of tax-planning strategies that address client needs.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify tax impacts and opportunities.
- Collaborate with engagement teams to manage timelines, assess risks, and ensure quality deliverables.
- Identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and recommend process improvements.
- Contribute to internal knowledge development and participate in special projects or business development initiatives as needed.
What You Bring:
- A university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in tax or accounting, ideally within a professional services or client-facing environment.
- Working toward or completion of a recognized professional designation (e.g., CPA).
- Enrollment in advanced tax training or a graduate program in taxation is considered an asset.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
- A proactive, client-focused mindset and a strong interest in continuous learning.
