A well-established organization in the manufacturing and distribution sector is seeking a Senior Controller to lead its finance and accounting function. This role offers significant exposure to executive leadership and operational decision-making and is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day financial oversight.

About the Role

Reporting to senior leadership, the Senior Controller will oversee all accounting, financial reporting, treasury, compliance, and internal control activities across the organization. This role will serve as a key business partner to operational leaders while leading and developing a finance team in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the overall accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and key performance metrics for senior leadership
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to support compliance and operational effectiveness
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and long-term financial planning initiatives
  • Manage treasury activities, including liquidity planning, cash flow forecasting, debt management, and financial risk monitoring
  • Partner with operational leaders to provide financial analysis, business insights, and recommendations that support decision-making
  • Coordinate external audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Lead financial systems, reporting tools, and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Oversee inventory accounting, product costing, capital asset management, and working capital controls
  • Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture
  • Support special projects, acquisitions, integrations, and strategic initiatives as required

What You Bring

  • CPA designation preferred (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA)
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
  • Strong experience leading finance teams within manufacturing, distribution, or product-based environments
  • Deep understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and internal controls
  • Experience with inventory accounting, product costing, and operational finance is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and advanced Excel capabilities
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive process improvements
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on within a fast-paced environment
