About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position will focus primarily on financial reporting and technical accounting, while also supporting audit activities, regulatory reporting, and special projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of accounting and wants to deepen their expertise in corporate reporting before transitioning into broader finance opportunities.
 
What You'll Do
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting packages in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Support the year-end audit process and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Research technical accounting matters and prepare accounting position papers and supporting documentation
  • Assist with regulatory, lender, and government reporting requirements
  • Support project accounting activities, financial analysis, and ad hoc reporting as required
  • Contribute to forecasting and other finance initiatives when needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reporting processes and strengthen financial controls
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects across the finance function

What You'll Bring

  • CPA designation is required
  • Experience in public accounting or corporate financial reporting with strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Background in financial statement preparation, audit, or public company reporting
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with financial reporting systems
  • A genuine interest in building expertise in financial reporting and technical accounting
  • Experience within a large accounting firm or publicly accountable organization is considered an asset
