A fast-growing investment management firm is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join its finance team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with private funds experience who is comfortable supporting complex fund structures, investor reporting, and accounting operations in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

Reporting to finance leadership, this position will support fund accounting, financial reporting, investor reporting, audit coordination, tax compliance, and process improvement initiatives. The role offers exposure to internal stakeholders, external service providers, and broader business teams involved in fund operations and growth initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and review quarterly financial statements, NAV reporting, and investor reporting for multiple fund entities
  • Support accounting for fund structures such as master-feeder vehicles, special purpose entities, general partners, and managed accounts
  • Manage capital activity, including capital calls, distributions, rebalancing, carried interest, and management fee calculations
  • Work with external administrators, investor relations, and internal teams on reporting packages and client-facing materials
  • Oversee journal entries, valuations, reconciliations, and maintenance of accounting records
  • Support investment closings, including funding coordination and investor documentation processes
  • Coordinate audits and assist with the preparation of audited financial statements
  • Work with tax advisors and external partners to support regulatory and tax filings
  • Partner with legal, finance, and business teams on new fund launches and fundraising activities
  • Contribute to system improvements, automation, controls, and process scalability

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of fund accounting, fund administration, or investment accounting experience
  • Experience with private funds, asset management, or alternative investments is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • CPA designation is an asset
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, ideally including IFRS
  • Exposure to audit, tax, investor reporting, regulatory filings, and investment valuation is an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail, organization, and accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
