About the Role Reporting to senior finance leadership, this position will oversee corporate accounting and financial reporting activities for the organization’s head office entity while supporting broader group-level reporting and governance requirements. The successful candidate will lead a team, drive process improvements, and play a key role in enhancing financial controls and reporting quality across the business.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the preparation and coordination of quarterly and annual external reporting deliverables, including management commentary and related disclosures
- Partner with internal stakeholders across finance and operations to gather, review, and enhance reporting content and financial analysis
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting for corporate functions, providing insight into variances, trends, and cost drivers
- Act as a strategic finance partner to department leaders by supporting budget planning and financial decision-making
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for corporate entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Provide oversight on technical accounting matters, including review of complex transactions and non-routine journal entries
- Support audit processes by coordinating deliverables and acting as a key contact for external auditors
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, governance frameworks, and compliance with accounting standards and corporate policies
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, and reporting workflows
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals
- Contribute to cross-functional projects, systems initiatives, and other strategic finance priorities as needed
What You Bring
- CPA designation required
- 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, corporate accounting, or public accounting
- Previous leadership experience managing or mentoring finance teams
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and complex financial reporting requirements
- Experience working within mining is preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance, and internal processes
- Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving and process improvement capabilities
