 A leading communications and technology organization is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Close Controller to join its finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys financial reporting, process improvement, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence. About the Role
Reporting to the finance leadership team, you'll play a key role in overseeing the financial close process, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position combines technical accounting expertise with process optimization, stakeholder collaboration, and financial analysis in a dynamic environment. 

What You'll Do

  • Support and enhance the month-end financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Review financial results, investigate variances, and provide meaningful analysis to support business decisions
  • Partner with operational and finance stakeholders to understand business activities and financial impacts
  • Support internal and external financial reporting requirements and maintain strong financial controls
  • Provide guidance on accounting treatment for new business activities, projects, and evolving accounting standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with technology teams to enhance financial systems, reporting capabilities, and data quality
  • Leverage automation and emerging technologies, including AI, to streamline finance processes
  • Participate in finance transformation initiatives and special projects that support organizational growth
  • Present financial insights and recommendations to leadership to support strategic decision-making 

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
  • CPA designation is considered an asset
  • 2–3+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting, or financial close
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close, and accounting principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with financial reporting systems or ERP platforms
  • Experience with finance transformation, automation, or process improvement initiatives is an asset
  • Interest in emerging technologies, including AI and data-driven finance solutions, is considered an asset
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business functions
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
