About the Role
Reporting to a senior finance leader, you will play a key role in supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and U.S. sales and use tax compliance, along with other indirect tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions. This position will also focus on improving financial processes, enhancing reporting accuracy, and providing meaningful insights that support business decisions.
What You'll Do

Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cycles.

Maintain and enhance financial models to support strategic planning.

Perform financial modeling, scenario analysis, and ad hoc reporting.

Prepare management reports and presentations for senior leadership.

Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and explain key variances.

Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights that support decision-making.

Manage U.S. sales and use tax compliance and other indirect tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions.

Prepare, review, and validate U.S. sales tax returns and other indirect tax filings to ensure accuracy and timely submission.

Monitor changes in U.S. sales and use tax legislation, maintain tax registrations, and ensure ongoing compliance.

Research tax implications related to new products, customer transactions, nexus requirements, and business expansion initiatives.

Reconcile tax-related financial data and investigate discrepancies.

Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities during audits and compliance reviews.

Identify opportunities to improve tax reporting processes, strengthen internal controls, and enhance overall compliance efficiency.

Support month-end close and financial reporting activities.

Perform variance analysis across revenue, expenses, and key performance indicators.

Assist in preparing monthly management reporting packages.

Identify financial risks, opportunities, and operational improvement initiatives.

Participate in cross-functional projects that enhance finance processes and reporting capabilities.
What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.

CPA designation or progress toward completion is a must.

Three or more years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, tax, or a related field.

Experience with U.S. sales and use tax compliance is required, ideally within a manufacturing, distribution, or multi-state business environment.

Strong understanding of indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions; experience with Canadian GST/HST/PST is considered an asset.

Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP or enterprise financial systems.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
