What You'll Do
- Prepare and review corporate tax provisions and related financial reporting disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards
- Manage Canadian corporate income tax compliance and support international tax filing requirements
- Assist with cross-border tax matters, including U.S. tax compliance and international reporting
- Participate in mergers and acquisitions by conducting tax due diligence, assessing risks, and supporting transaction structuring
- Research complex tax issues and provide practical recommendations on domestic and international tax matters
- Coordinate with external advisors and tax authorities on audits, inquiries, and compliance matters
- Prepare technical tax memoranda and support corporate restructuring initiatives
- Assist with the integration of newly acquired businesses by implementing tax compliance and reporting processes
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and evaluate the impact on the organization
- Support finance teams with day-to-day tax advisory matters and special projects
What You'll Bring
- CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 4+ years of progressive tax experience with a strong foundation in Canadian corporate income tax
- Experience preparing and reviewing tax provisions under IFRS or similar financial reporting standards
- Strong experience with Canadian corporate tax compliance and complex tax filings
- Exposure to international tax, cross-border tax, or mergers and acquisitions is considered an asset
- Experience with ERP systems, tax software, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly
- A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
