An established organization within the real estate space is seeking a US Tax Leader to oversee its US tax compliance and strategy. This role offers the opportunity to provide tax leadership across the organization while supporting effective tax planning, compliance, and tax optimization initiatives.
About the Role
Reporting to a senior finance leader, this position is responsible for overseeing US federal and state tax compliance, developing strategies to optimize tax outcomes, and leading the tax team. The role also involves close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely filings.
What You’ll Do

Lead the preparation and review of US federal and state tax returns for the organization and its subsidiaries.

Develop and implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Manage and mentor tax team members, providing technical guidance and support to ensure high performance.

Conduct research on US tax matters and stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.

Collaborate with stakeholders to support accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance activities.

Identify and implement tax savings opportunities and strategies.

Contribute to process improvements and help strengthen the organization’s overall tax function.
What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; US or Canadian CPA or EA designation preferred.

3–5 years of experience in US tax compliance and strategy.

Strong technical knowledge of US federal and state tax regulations and compliance requirements.

Proven leadership and mentoring skills.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Experience in the real estate sector is an asset.
